About TwitterHat

TwitterHat should be used by people that want to promote their own web site when they share (by tweeting) a link through Twitter.

Like other services, TwitterHat shortens long URLs into tiny URLs that are tweet-friendly. But TwitterHat lets you attach your own banner and link to your tweeted links.

Why would you want to use TwitterHat?

Let's say you have a blog, web site, product...something you want to promote or share with others. You're an avid Twitterer and post a lot of links to web sites other than your own, possibly to news articles, pictures, whatever.

Right now, when someone clicks on that link they go to the other web site and that's it. They might not know or remember from where they found it or why. TwitterHat helps solve this problem.

Now you get credit for your links!

Links created with TwitterHat will take people to the web site you want, but it will also include a banner and link to the web site you choose, most likely your blog. That way people can find out more about what it is you do and offer. It will help people remember that you are a good source for not only links on Twitter, but as a web resource as well.

Got a blog? A company web site? Use Twitter?
Then you need to be using TwitterHat.

An Example

I have a blog and I regularly read CNN. I found an article I want to share on Twitter. I use TwitterHat to shorten the web address and send it in a tweet.

This article says it all. Great stuff. http://g2th.com/?p=f0b166

When someone clicks on that link, they'll get a page that looks like this with the full page on the bottom, and your banner and link at the top.
